We need to talk to Rosa DeLauro, Jim Himes & Blumenthal & Murphy about this. We really need the FCC to stop using the knowledge they had in the 1950's and make the area from Fairfield to Woodbridge and up to Newtown in their own unique area and force the cable & satallite providers to carry both CT & NY and also to allow Boston teams here like NESN. The Yankees act like they own CT. The question I keep asking Cablevision that they will not answer is why are the NY stations on in NH County? Cablevision says that FFC subscribers don't want to pay for 2 CBS affiliates but NHC subscribe do want both because of the NJ Jets.

It is time to change it. These markets were created by the FCC in the '50's, things have changed now. Tonight ch 2 gave the temperature for Westport, so you can see the NY stations only want to branch out <60 miles, so move the Bridgeport area to NHC. Oh also, ch 2 gave the weather for Montauk which is 120+ miles from NYC, so see they show no interest in FFC.

And they are trying to shove that garbage down our throats. It is nothing but a college TV station. All they do is repeat all day.

This is absurd. The cable companies are utilities, and are granted a monopoly in exchange for regulation. How they can just drop network affiliates makes no sense.

However Reagan ruined this for the consumers with the Communications Act of 1984 when he said that the States may not regulate cable companies and if you try to complain to the FCC they throw your letter in the garbage.
