Does anyone know of any music festivals or interesting events around the Danbury area? My Cousin lives there now and I'm going to visit him this year but I'm trying to plan something for us to do. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

They are usually some summer concerts at the Oneil center, located at the WCSU campus in western Danbury. I don't think they announced who is going yet. There are also events at the nearby Ridgefield playhouse.

Heirloom Arts Theater in Danbury has lots of indie shows. There's Ives Center, and sometimes they have shows at the bandshell in downtown Danbury.

Ridgefield Playhouse has shows, mostly catering to an older audience. There's Alive at Five in Stamford during the summer. As far as events, there's the Bridgewater County Fair in the summer, Norwalk Oyster Festival, Milford Oyster Festival, etc.

New Haven and Hartford have much more robust music scenes, or you could just go to NYC.

Im sure theres more festivals but....

What kind of festival are you interested in....Like a Bonnaroo type?

Theres Gathering of the Vibes in Bridgeport, that is a ton of fun and they get some big names there. I saw Primus there a couple years back.

Theres Mountain Jam in NY, Another jam fest but Primus is on the list this year.

Theres Camp Bisco in NY, another jam fest, my friends that go say its really good.

Most will say the Gathering of the Vibes is the one to go to because its close (to us) and right on the beach, the "scene" there is pretty crazy too its a good time.

Lets just hope these are the type of festivals your looking for
