It's a fine move (presumably this is what you want to do). You'll pay lower taxes and also get a cosmopolitan feel at a lower price. Read the other posts on this forum, there are zillions of postings about Stamford, etc.

Stamford is super safe, very, very conducive to the "single" and the "young." The Metro North train is just 44 minutes to Grand Central station. It's a great time to move to Stamford. There are revolutionary changes occurring in the city: a Trump Tower is under construction, a Ritz-Carlton condo/hotel is planned, an *uber* luxury condo tower called the Highgrove is being built with prices starting @ $1.3 million, an entire live/work/play development is proposed for the south end of Stamford and should begin construction next year, and the mall is opening in Nov/Dec a brand new outdoor "plaza" of 7 new restaurants such as California Pizza Kitchen, PF Changs, etc., plus a huge Barnes and Noble and H&M clothing store (CT's 1st!!).
Would you rent or buy?
