Car vs Truck on I-95 South in Milford. Only one lane is getting by between exits 34 and 32

I was looking for this last Saturday I think it was.

Accident pretty much right at exit 16 in Norwalk SOUTHBOUND. That's gonna be a key word later on, so that's why I put it in caps. Traffic northbound went all the way back to pretty much the CT/NY border. A friggen 15 mile traffic jam for an accident on the OTHER side of the highway, smfh

I wonder if there's a stretch of highway anywhere in the US (of similar length) that's as constantly gridlocked as exit 2-exit 15. Absolutely pathetic. What a drain on one's quality of life.

We're not devoid of traffic up here. There are some routine delays of several miles (most notably between on that awful stretch of I-84 between Hartford and West Hartford). However, the nice thing is that traffic is very predictable and easily avoided. Never any non-accident related issues on weekends, nor outside of peek hours.

Nothing is as bad as 95 in FFC. There is also traffic usually from 395/95 to CT River - Lyme and Niantic exits. That's also frustrating. It's mainly 2-lane highway where all New England has to bottleneck thru 95 till it opens up in New London.

Least congested highways are 395, 9 (except middletown) and 8.

Route 2 (east of exit 8), Route 11, and I-384.

8 can get some traffic from the merger off 25 to about Ansonia during rush hour, but aside from that, yah.

95 in FFC has become so bad that it was an important factor when moving for several people that I know. And a reprieve does not seem to be possible for another 10 years at least.
