I would take that commute from Greenwich to Bridgeport on I-95 and the Merritt every day any day over the Long Island Expressway (I-495) and Northern State Parkway in Long Island. On the LIE, even the HOV lane is jammed for 20 miles .

That rating is very misleading. It seems skewed for States with wide-open spaces and high speed limits. And it is only based on tickets.

Idiots in NJ, NY and CT do not seem to have moved the needle.

I would think that CT has a pretty high rate of tickets. CT has ridiculously slow speed limits, one of my least favorite parts of driving in it, and tons of cops that just sit and write tickets all day compared to many other states. Have lived in the south and could go months without seeing a speed trap, whereas in CT you see at least several everyday. Also there are roads in CT where they put the limit at 35, and in NY it's a busier road, with sharper and more bends, and it's rated at 55.

Please stop blindly quoting these idiotic rankings.

CT drivers are AWFUL. Period. The majority are left-lane camping morons without a clue as to what safe, courteous driving means. I've seen drivers slam on their brakes when spotting a trooper on the OTHER SIDE of the highway, and idiots cruising in the extreme-left lane on an otherwise empty highway. You've got to be kidding me.
