I'm wondering what the consensus is on purchasing in Vernon.

I'm only interested in relatively new construction condos (nothing more than 10 years old). Budget is around $200k.

The only possibilities seem to be in Vernon (there's some in South Windsor, as well...but $10-20k higher). My concern is potential re-sale value. While Vernon itself is reasonably nice, it seems like its connection with Rockville drags down prices. Moreover, the schools district is considered to be just 'okay'.

What would you see as the long-term investment potential here? Does the town have potential for growth? I'd imagine so, given how commutable it is to Hartford.

Your assessment of Vernon is correct. The fact that you are questioning this means you already know the answer. I do not think Vernon is a bad investment but it certainly will be a tougher sell in a tough real estate market. It is your call (and only your call) whether it is worth it or not. Jay
