No, they are looking at building a superstore just south of Litchfield Crossing. It required a zoning change which is tied up in legal disputes. Jay

Stew Leonards is just down the road in Danbury. I doubt they would open an additional store so close particularly in a small town like New Milford. It is pretty well known in New Milford that it is Walmart wanting to build a 160,000 square foot superstore there but there is a lawsuit pending on the zone change that the town approved to make it possible. I live in Trumbull and I have seen a petition about this. I know the folks in northern Tashua (wealthiest area) of Trumbull are not happy about this. The Walmart will be close to them. A bunch of million dollar homes have gone up in that area of Tashua in the last 10 years. I can't imagine a Walmart near that area.

I also think I saw something in my Trumbullpatch that Trumbull is going to try to stop it somehow. Something about the water runoff or conservation of the area and how it will affect Trumbull.

I thought kidyankee was discussing my comment on the Walmart proposed in New Milford. I had said that tWalmart tried to hide that it was them moving into Monroe, just like they tried to do in New Milford. Jay

I forgot to mention a few weeks ago that i read from a "legitimate" news source that it's now believed that Costco is going to be the new tenant.

I would not be so sure about that. The size of the proposed store is larger than a normal Costco and I would think naming Costco as the tenant would be a plus while Walmart would not. We will see. Jay

Supposedly Trumbull is going to sue Monroe (the latest I hear at least).
