We live off Mill Plain in Fairfield. Just left northern Fairfield returning home and the traffic on Black Rock Turnpike heading to the Merritt and on Mill Plain headed north was pretty heavy at 7:15. I really felt for those people, especially when I heard it may not get better for a while. Ugh.

That's why it was crazy in Staford today.. one of the days I happen to get off exit 8 I was like what the heck is up with all the traffic... looks like I have to skip over a few streets.

I was on the 5:33 am out of Metro, got to Stamford around 6:05 and GCT at 7:30. Complete disaster. Took me 2.5 hours home last night as well. Tonight should be fun...

After Sandy woes and now this, I honestly believe it is time to change the electric utility for NY Metro (i.e. fire Con Ed). That said, I'm fortunately to be moderately close to the Harlem line. Parking at Bedford Hills was problematic but the train was not crowded.

On a related note (that's been discussed before), I wish our rail line was more modernized... e.g. faster trains that don't have electrical issues themselves, and lines that are less likely to fail. I know it takes extra tax dollars in order to fund such a project...but one can dream, right?
