Hi, I will be moving to stamford, ct next month and I would like to get my driving license. I have international one so I only have to pass the tests - no need for practice. Can I do this on a Saturday and if so which is the best/closest location to stamford? Thanks a lot!

Looks like you still need to get a Learner's Permit and take eight hours of driver training, unless you are from Germany, Canada, or France. So that sucks.

DMV: Adult Learner's Permit - Obtaining

Or you can use your international license for a year, as long as it's valid and in English (or you have an IDP if it's not.)

Each State in the US has it's own DMV rules. Once you determine what steps you need to take, you can then find which DMV office provides what you need (not all offices do the same things !) . The list of offices, what they do, and their hours (some are open Sat. mornings) is at this DMV webpage DMV: Directions and Office Hours

Also you need to read this page http://www.ct.gov/dmv/cwp/view.asp?a=805&q=244774

And you thought this was going to be simple ? Good luck.........

Lol stupid me hm...as long as it can be done on a Saturday I am OK ... I actually passed everything in NY other than the driving test which I haven't taken - do you think I can transfer my written test and 5 hours course to Connecticut from NY state ?
