That's nice, but remember that this thread is about development and projects in Stamford. How about starting a new thread to compare Stamford to any other city?

Maybe the moderator can move the Stamford vs White Plains posts to a new thread dedicated to that topic.

I don't know what building in particular this is, but it's one of the newest buildings in the Harbor Point development in the South End.

Any news on demolition of the old funeral parlor at 545 Bedford St? It is supposed to be replaced with a six-story building with 82 apartments. More info on page 2 here - item 4:

Antonio, since you around downtown so much taking photos, maybe you can check if they have started demolition of the funeral parlour?

Springdate is reinventing itself as a self sufficiant, pedestrian friendly, more reasonalbe alternative to downtown and the south end. Antonio's picture is just one of two new sites. As this article from the Advocate reports, there is another rental building going up and, new retail is appearing,. With a train stop on the New Canaan spur, and rezoning for retail and residential, Stamfords' "Last Village" is becoming more attractive to those seeking value and a relaxed pace.
