Tug hill is leading the way as usual. There's no snow cover in the entire state of MA, burlington, vt or even syracuse! Barely any snow cover in the Adirondacks and none in the catskills. Truly amazing no snow cover 30 miles north of syracuse even after all that snow the past month up there. How zoomed is that snow cover map? Does it pick up on high peaks in the catskills? Looks like a spring snow cover map.

Apparently the map is showing liquid equivalents--- assuming a 10:1 ratio there is actually quite a bit of snow cover over the northeast. Am I missing something here?

Shows nada in the Catskills.

Here's the link-- it's fun to play around with it! Just draw a square on the map for the area you want to zoom in on.

Oh so it's not a snow cover map then? I guess that's for rivers/agriculture purposes

Here's a snow depth map

Big changes coming up. I would get ready for a prolonged period of very cold artic air towards the end of the month. This has the potential to last much longer (12-20) days than the last brief cold outbreak.

Not as bad as it could be, isn't the norm this time of year about 35? I can deal with 20s.

Single digits not so much.

well how often is there a prolonged period with highs in the 20's? No, IF this happened it would be quite a deal.
