It's below freezing in high elevation nw hills. Goshen at 1263 feet is currently at 31 degrees. Check that station at wunderground.com. Everywhere else is above freezing right now at 10:30pm. Torrington is hovering at around 32.5 degrees.
And you can obviously have snow even if it's above freezing at surface if it's colder aloft or conversely it can be below freezing and you can have freezing rain/sleet instead of snow due to warmer layer aloft.

Sorry to rain on your parade, but snow and sleet here in Hartford County. About .25 inch of sleet on the ground now with snow falling.

12:40 PM EST...

Temps appear stationary... still raining here in Danbury The precip appears to be drying out a bit to the west in NY/PA so that's about it for me.

I have to say, wave was right with this one.

Cold and dry morning across CT. Precip ended very early. Roads should be fine except maybe higher elevations where black ice could be around.

NWS Upton snow total forecast for the next one tomorrow night. Cold air in place and moisture moving up. Also High pressure over us which will keep temps cold. This was the concern from many days ago...Sunday night's system. Could delay Monday mornings travel.

WEATHER THROUGH THIS TIME PERIOD WILL BE CONTROLLED BY THE POLAR
VORTEX OVER HUDSON BAY...WHICH WILL ROTATE A SERIES OF SHORTWAVES
THROUGH THE NORTHERN US. MODELS IN DECENT AGREEMENT WITH ONE OF THESE
SHORTWAVES PHASING WITH A SHORTWAVE EJECTING OUT OF THE WESTERN
US...RESULTING IN A DEVELOPING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM AFFECTING THE
REGION WITH A WINTRY MIX OF PRECIP SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY
MORNING. BASED ON CLOSLEY CLUSTERED CONSENSUS TRACK OF A DOUBLE
BARRELED COASTAL LOW...A TRANSITION TO RAIN WOULD BE EXPECTED
ALONG THE COAST BY MONDAY MORNING
. ACROSS INTERIOR
AREAS...PARTICULARLY NW ZONES...A FEW INCHES OF SNOW AND SLEET ARE
POSSIBLE WITH EVEN A BRIEF TRANSITION TO FREEZING RAIN. SREF
PLUMES INDICATING A MEAN OF 3 TO 4 INCHES ACROSS FAR NW
ZONES...WITH GENERALLY AN INCH OR LESS FOR CITY COAST
. THIS COULD
MAKE FOR A WINTRY MORNING COMMUTE FOR INTERIOR AREAS...WHILE AT
THE CITY/COAST ROADS SHOULD MAINLY BE WET WITH RAIN AND RISING
TEMPS.

Looks like a cold week coming up for us. It's that time of year when folks head to Florida because you know.... Winter in Connecticut is so bad.

Highs not getting out of the 30s except for Monday. Highs on Wednesday in the 20s likely.

Then Next Monday this could be our lows.

I was surprised (well, not really) to see talk of snow here. I was unaware we might get ice and snow last night, I didn't see anything forecast but rain, which is all we got. I guess I'm not far enough inland to have been affected. I will be sorry to see the warmth of the past week end, though. But I knew this couldn't last forever.
