Sunny here while the cell is to my north. I see lightning in the distance and hear the thunder. Another thunderstorm around here makes it 5 now this month

Thunderstorm Warning is up . Numbers are the dewpoints.

70 Lightning Strikes from that cell alone.

Getting the Summer idea for New England?? Short lived heat followed by cool and dry or seasonable.

Looks like some warmth Sunday-Monday then a cold front moves in with "Canadian" High pressure moves in and a backdoor front for New England. Interesting what NWS Boston says regarding Tuesday.

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TAUNTON MA
428 AM EDT SAT MAY 24 2014

SUMMER LIKE WARMTH EXPECTED ON MEMORIAL DAY WILL BE SHORT LIVED AS A STRONG BACK DOOR COLD FRONT MOVES THROUGH THE REGION ON TUESDAY

TUE...THIS COULD BE A VERY INTERESTING DAY WITH DRAMATIC TEMP CHANGES SPATIALLY AND TEMPORALLY...DEPENDENT UPON TIMING OF A BACKDOOR COLD FRONT. FOR NOW...THINKING TEMPS WILL QUICKLY RISE TO AT LEAST MID 70S E MA AND RI BEFORE CRASHING DURING THE AFTERNOON WITH BACKDOOR COLD FRONT PASSAGE. MAY SEE DRAMATIC TEMP DROP IN EASTERN MA AND RI FROM MID/UPPER 70S TO MID/UPPER 50S IN JUST AN HOUR OR TWO. TEMPS MAY REACH MID/UPPER 80S CT VALLEY OF NH...MA AND CT BEFORE DROPPING LATE IN THE DAY...WARMEST GREATER HARTFORD AREA.

And here's the data from latest GFS for Danbury, CT. 20°C = 68°F

Any sense as to how much rain fell east of hartford or central Nj? A few locations appeared to have been dumped on from yesterdays semi-stationary front. I think a few 4" plus spots are likely!!!

Saw NYC/NJ and areas of CT getting downpours last night. Kinda getting tired of seeing rain now. LOL

Saw Some flooding reports too because it came down in short time... Roughly 1-2" total.

Rainfall Estimate per radar last 24hrs. http://nmq.ou.edu/applications/qvs_2d_maps.html
