Max temps today.

Can't find any interesting data for CT but I checked the Last time Nantucket stayed below 69° 1st week of August was 2008 b4 that was 2004.

Many of these maxes came from just an hour peaking at it. Most of the day was in the 60s.

Mid Afternoon in the Dog Days of Summer Bridgeport,CT at 69°. Last time they failed to go above low 70s was June 13th!

We have East Winds.
Wore a long sleeved shirt yesterday. Can't remember the last time I wore one of those in early August. Also some of the leaves have already started turning down here on some branches. It's quite strange.

I just hope this cooler trend ends soon, I do NOT want a colder than average fall and winter.

If it continues at this rate it seems to suggest so imo.

I'm going to say 2 shocking things...

1. Windsor Locks (BDL) is having their 5th warmest Summer on record (since 1905!). Obviously still 30 days left so we'll see where it ends up. (June-July-August) Doesn't have to be 90s & 100s for it to be above normal in New England. Although BDL has had 10 days of 90°+.

2. The "overall" pattern is a scary thought for upcoming seasons. It's basically been unchanged since last winter with the dips in the Jet Stream all the way down to Gulf. Obviously summer time there's a different effect, and New England has escaped the brunt of it.

However, if it continues there is no question in my mind we will have a similar if not worse winter coming up. Just going by whats actually happening now to say that. That's not a forecast or a personal thought. Just using current pattern and relating it to winter.

For it to change something has to change in the atmosphere. Whether its in the Stratosphere or El Nino conditions.

Ok, I'm not sure if yesterday data dropped it like a rock but now I'm not seeing it in the Top 20. Did I check something else last night that showed it? Did I dream it? Am I losing it? LOL

Caribou Maine having it's Warmest on record so far & Burlington,VT 10th. Maybe I was looking at Burlington?
