December 1989 was one of the coldest Decembers in history and it had very little snow....

Snow total forecast. Just mocking us. Might be going into February without a big snowstorm at this pace.

Every year is unique and like no other, but can we take a closer look at these two? My big question is whether (no pun intended) December of '84 and '96 were above average in precipitation at all.

'96/'97 looks like our year. Both Decembers were very warm, very wet with very little snowfall. It looks like January is coming in below average or near average in temp and dry. If January follows through, I'd expect a warm and dry Feb like that of '97. As we know, though, anything can happen because it's weather we're talking about

I admire you for your hard work but you are not getting a rate up until you can get us some real snow. 2 inches is sad and pathetic.

Although come to think of it, 2 inches would bring Atlanta to a standstill!

Very nice catch on the analog! Interesting. I wonder how other things matched up like El Nino, sunspots, NAO, ect.

2 inches is plenty, if it's icy and right about 6 am. That would get me the snow day everyone wants!!
