NWS has joined everyone else and backed off on the subzero lows for NYC and BDR Monday night/Tuesday morning, now suggesting "around 10"......

I was 0.2 the other day. And 2 or 3 this morning. I know it was low another time this winter.

I think they made some typos on BDR in that I think the lowest max was 22, the highest min 36 and the lowest min 4, LOL!

I noticed a weird thing this morning......NYC is 26, White Plains 20, Poughkeepsie 22, BDR 19 and Danbury is 4! Not sure why so much colder in Danbury, my guess is the others are cloudy and Danbury had a clear sky all night for radiational cooling (maybe BDR is still clear too which is why it's colder than Poughkeepsie, which it rarely is in the morning).

Thanks! I fixed that above.

Yeah looks like Danbury had clear skies and 0 winds but not sure why the big difference. NYC had a 7" snow pack yesterday 7am. Pretty sure not much of that melted.

Its not the first time this week either.......i believe on thursday morning danbury went subzero while nyc, white plains and BDR were all in the upper teens......but Poughkeepsie was subzero too so it didnt seem as unusual.

And its not over folks

HE EVOLUTION OF THIS SHORTWAVE WILL PREDICATE AMOUNT OF INTERACTION
WITH SOUTHERN STREAM ENERGY EMERGING FROM MEXICO. GFS/GEFS ARE MOST
PROGRESSIVE IN KEEPING SOUTHERN LOW PRESSURE FAR ENOUGH OFFSHORE
WITH LITTLE INTERACTION. THIS PROGRESSIVE AND LESS AMPLIFIED
SHORTWAVE WOULD MEAN INTENSIFICATION OF THE DEPARTING
CLIPPER...ALLOWING ARCTIC FRONT TO SWING THROUGH LATE WED NIGHT INTO
THURSDAY...WITH A PERIOD OF LIGHT SNOW POSSIBLE ON THE BACKSIDE.
NAM AND GEM ARE SHOWING A BIT MORE INTERACTION WITH POTENTIAL FOR
SOUTHERN LOW TO GET CLOSE ENOUGH FOR MORE MOISTURE TO INTERACT WITH
THE ANAFRONT AND HEAVIER QPF ACROSS EASTERN SECTIONS. WHILE ECMWF
AND ITS ENSEMBLES ARE INDICATING A MORE AMPLIFIED NORTHERN STREAM
SHORTWAVE...GREATER PHASING WITH SOUTHERN STREAM...AND SOUTHERN LOW
PRESSURE TRACKING UP THE COAST WITH A MORE SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM
ALONG THE COAST. CANT RULE OUT ANY OF THESE SCENARIOS AT THIS TIME.
BUT SINCE ALL SCENARIOS INDICATING SOME PRECIP OVER THE REGION LATE
WED NIGHT/THU HAVE INCREASED POPS TO HIGH CHANCE.

DECENT AGREEMENT WITH A BRIEF RESPITE FRI INTO FRI NIGHT AS HIGH
BUILDS IN...AND THEN MODELS SIGNALING ANOTHER POLAR UPPER LOW
ESTABLISHING ITSELF OVER ONTARIO/QUEBEC WITH ARCTIC FRONT
APPROACHING AND THEN PUSHING THROUGH THE REGION THIS WEEKEND. AND
WITH AN ACTIVE PAC UPPER FLOW TO THE SOUTH...A SERIES OF WAVES OF LOW
PRESSURE ARE POSSIBLE ALONG THIS FRONT BRINGING POTENTIAL FOR BOUTS
OF WINTRY PRECIP LATE WEEKEND INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK. PHASING OF
STREAMS AND DEVELOPMENT OF A STRONGER LOW IS NOT OUT OF THE
QUESTION EITHER.
