956 PM EDT WED APR 1 2015

STRONG WAA AND DOWNSLOPING EFFECTS WILL
PUSH MAX TEMPS INTO THE LOW TO MID 60S FOR NYC AND URBANIZED
PORTIONS OF NE NJ...WHILE MOST OF THE CWA WILL TOP OFF IN THE MID
TO UPPER 50S. ONLY EXCEPTION WILL BE LONG ISLAND AND COASTAL
CT WHERE THE FLOW COMING OFF THE COLD WATERS WILL KEEP HIGHS
ONLY IN THE LOW 50S.
I'm south of central CT - North Haven. I never know whether or not to count myself as part of coastal, or mid-state. I'm definitely "inland" when referring to storms affecting tidal swells and coastal flooding.

Usually the "midstate" cutoff is somewhere near the Wallingford/Meriden line. So for this, should I be looking at upper 50's, or lower 50's? Or do you figure North Haven will get the middle, and I should dress for 55ish?

Mid 50s is a good bet. While you'll have coastal influence in general, you wont have the true effects and your temps wont be as cool as if you were closer to the water.

Don't forget... Rain and Clouds tomorrow so it might not feel like 50s.

Tues, Wed, Thurs next week is looking cold. Euro says we dont pass the mid 40s here for 3 days. That means most of the day in the 30s and low 40s. Guess the wood stove continues. Gees.

After about two years in Wallingford I can confidently say I consider the ourselves in the middle. I put the line somewhere in Hamden.

Today hit 60 and it's almost 50 out now, first day/night we have turned the heat off since winter.

Kinda feels weird huh? Our night/morning low is around where the normal max temps should be. Danbury low is 52.

Finally I have a break from lighting the stove in the morning. Geesus!

From 2 days ago.. It's been since late fall we haven't had a mild night like we just had.

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TAUNTON MA
358 PM EDT WED APR 1 2015

THURSDAY NIGHT...

SO WHILE WET WEATHER IS LIKELY...EXPECT JUST SHOWERS. NO THUNDER AND NOTHING PRONOUNCED. SCATTERED ACTIVITY. NO FLOODING CONCERNS. JUST AN ABUNDANCE OF CLOUDS AND OVERALL A MILD NIGHT THE LIKES WE HAVE NOT SEEN SINCE THANKSGIVING 2014 FOR BOSTON / PROVIDENCE...SINCE LATE OCTOBER FOR HARTFORD / WORCESTER...USING 45 DEGREES AS THE THRESHOLD. AMAZING! LOOKING AT LOWS AROUND THE LOW- TO MID-40S.

WILL NEED TO MONITOR CLOSELY FOR THE PRESENCE OF DENSE FOG. HIGHER DEWPOINT AIR OVER THE COLDER OCEAN...AND RELATIVELY COLDER GROUND WITH LINGERING SNOWPACK...WILL LIKELY RESULT IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF SOME DENSE FOG. THOUGH MILDER CONDITIONS USHERED BY BREEZY SW- FLOW. WILL THIS DETER FOG DEVELOPMENT REMAINS TO BE SEEN. OF SOME CERTAINTY WILL BE THE EXPECTATION OF BREEZY HIGH DEWPOINT AIR ALONG WITH WET-WEATHER WILL ALLOW FOR FASTER EROSION OF ANY LEFT- OVER SNOW. PERHAPS WE CAN FINALLY SAY GOODBYE TO THE REMNANTS OF WINTER. RIGHT NOW WE HAVE A FOG-FREE FORECAST AS NEITHER CLIMO NOR MOS-GUIDANCE SUGGESTS FOG MOSTLY DUE TO ANTICIPATED BREEZY WINDS. AGAIN...WILL JUST HAVE TO MONITOR.

If Bridgeport goes another week without hitting 60°, it will be since 1984 they had to wait this long!

Normal is March 8th. What??! I think everyone kinda felt it was strange lately not having the warm breaks.

The latest was April 22, 1983

BDL hit yesterday. in fact, they hit for first time on same day last year. Not many times they wait till April to hit 60+! Last few times are 2015, 2014, 2001, 1984, 1980, 1972. Normal is February 27. What??!
