Can someone just name winter 2014 as the "rollercoaster winter"....seriously don't remember flip flopping like this. 50 degree swings in a day.

Its nuts. I think we had snowpack 4 different times. I got 9 times with accumulations more than a trace but I think we had 4 different melting points. Maybe more.

The F6 data lists the highs and lows for the month. Check out BDL. -9℉ on the 4th and 57 on the 11th.

Winter isn't a bust it's a drag...

When we do get snow it disappears and that dims the prospects for outdoor stuff like sledding, hockey, skiing that make winter pass by nicely. We seem stuck in this Ping pong match of extreme cold and hot and just like any other emotional extreme it's exhausting and confusing. I'd be happy with a nice snow storm with a slight coating to plateau the rest of the season.

I'm days away from calling no more frigid days. I really need to see some things turn around. While we will get cold and back to a winter pattern something is starting to tell me no more single digits. I'll give it another week.

Put it this way.. I think we'll see our typical snow and temp combo which means upper 20s and 30s. No more teens and snow. just a hunch

Anyone want to post some extreme temp stats for BDL or BDR? I think we can still get single digits into March

Well, I for one am overjoyed with weather like today! I didn't see 50, but 46 wasn't too bad. These warm-ups have made this weather quite live-able, I am usually quite depressed at this point.

No blizzards, no big storms but something interesting and maybe brewing for the 19th timeframe. At this point I'm thinking a 2-5" snow event. No biggie. But since we're 6 days away we'll have to watch it.

Just to explain the graphic real quick. The colors are the temps at 4000 feet. You need it below freezing to have snow. Freezing line is between the light blue and light green.

On the left is the normal Euro we all look at. On the right is whats called the ensembles. It's basically there to confirm what the regular Euro showed. Usually the ensembles are more reliable.

As you can see the Euro ensembles don't agree with the regular. It's colder and the storm is just off the coast at this hour. (Saturday morning)

Stay tuned
