Don't you work in New Haven? Certainly doesn't seem so. I think there should be MORE cops. Like in NYC. I went out on Chapel last night and didn't see one cop. Nor did I or my girlfriend ever feel unsafe. She's 5' and 100 pounds and sounds braver than some people in this thread.

Push for the Full build on the Knowledge corridor and you will have something similar to those trains. You would get the next version , as those trains would be for NEC and Keystone. Downstate Delaware , Knowledge Corridor and the Cape Codder would most likely be a whole new batch or EMUs.

The thing I like about New Haven over stamford is the variety, especially in terms of bars and scene. Stamford gets very repetitive if your in your 20s going out to the same bars and seeing the same types of people. I wish Stamford at the cool little cafes and bookstores or bars that New Haven has, but it may just be that Stamford is trying to cater to a different crowd, where as New Haven still has the college atmosphere around it.

New Haven is also its own island in a lot of ways, and has a huge college scene. That fuels variety.

Stamford is still a satellite city and both offers access to NYC, but also has to compete with it for attention as far as bars are concerned.
