(Sorry if someone else posted this already)

Yesterday, my friend got ticketed $150 in Glastonbury for picking up his cell phone to briefly check the time!

Commercial vehicles must now remove snow from the surface of the vehicle, or else pay a penalty up to $1,250!

It is also now illegal to touch any electronic device, even if the car is stopped at a red light or stopped due to heavy traffic. Wow!

I am happy with the no cell phone rule. Stupid teenage girl driving on I 84 swerved and almost hit me and was yapping away on the cellphone. I for one was a bit annoyed especially since I was making a long trip.

Your friend's vehicle didn't have a clock?

I use my phone as a clock as well. My overhead console has one, but one of the buttons is so stiff I'm afraid it will break so I leave it alone.

I also play music through my phone so not sure how hitting next on the phone is any different than hitting a station preset on the deck. I do it by feel. The phone sits in a holder next to the deck

That said, I'm glad Glastonbury cops are doing something. Way too many SUV driving soccer moms there, phone in one hand and coffee in the other.

Too bad police will be too busy ticketing for speeding since it's a much bigger revenue generator. If I was a cop I'd be pulling people over left and right for signal violations, bulbs out, high beams left on, aggressive driving, distracted driving, snow on the hood/roof, just name it.

I can guarantee you that not one officer on the road cares about generating revenue for their community.

Pick up a cell phone to check the time?

If they told the cop that, I'll bet he's still ROFL.

I just bought a 2014 Ford Fiesta.

Remember, this is the lower echelon of Ford vehicles.

You never have to touch your cell phone or take your hands off the wheel to make or answer a call.

In fact you can sit and carry on a conversation with your car if you get lonely.

It seems all new vehicles have these features now as I test drove 6 different makes.

^Exactly^. Picking up the phone to "check the time" is a complete BS story that obviously the officer didn't buy.

In my Jeep, I can switch my music, answer the phone and find out what time it is without taking my hands off the wheel.
