I am happy with the no cell phone rule. Stupid teenage girl driving on I 84 swerved and almost hit me and was yapping away on the cellphone. I for one was a bit annoyed especially since I was making a long trip.
I use my phone as a clock as well. My overhead console has one, but one of the buttons is so stiff I'm afraid it will break so I leave it alone.
I also play music through my phone so not sure how hitting next on the phone is any different than hitting a station preset on the deck. I do it by feel. The phone sits in a holder next to the deck
That said, I'm glad Glastonbury cops are doing something. Way too many SUV driving soccer moms there, phone in one hand and coffee in the other.
Too bad police will be too busy ticketing for speeding since it's a much bigger revenue generator. If I was a cop I'd be pulling people over left and right for signal violations, bulbs out, high beams left on, aggressive driving, distracted driving, snow on the hood/roof, just name it.

I can guarantee you that not one officer on the road cares about generating revenue for their community.
^Exactly^. Picking up the phone to "check the time" is a complete BS story that obviously the officer didn't buy.
In my Jeep, I can switch my music, answer the phone and find out what time it is without taking my hands off the wheel.
