I did not find any good ones here. I had a very so-so doc in Avon, and felt very let down by his experience with my complications so I went to Hartford hosp. to Connecticut Multi-specialty Group. Saw Dr. Labinson. He was again, okay, but not the stellar doc I was hoping for. All in all, as someone who has moved alot, I would say this specialty doc has been the most difficult one to find!! Would you consider finding a internal doc in place of an endo?? I've done that in the past. Not sure if your issues are very complicated, but really a good internist should be able to manage you. Best of luck.

well my problem is probably a common one for endos, im suffering from low testoterone. The thing is im only 22 soo its a problem i wanna take care of right away. These doctors for whatever reason seem to have a real long waiting time to get into see them. The endo my doc recomended couldnt see me for 3 months! So im calling around the state trying to find something better.

Sorry I don't have any personal experience with an endo to recommend, but here is a link to Connecticut Magazine's Best Doctors/Endocrinologists:
Connecticut Magazine - Top Docs 2006: Endocrinology
Hope this helps. Best of luck~

Okay, my problems are very complicated, so I'm kinda stuck w/ an endo, but if I may be presumptious, I would say that I think an internal medicine doc could help you. There's a fantastic doc my hubby used to see at Bishop's Corner. His name is Dr. Schmetterling. It's right next to Wild Oats. I've met him myself and liked him. He's easy to talk to and oh so smart. Can't hurt to try! Good Luck!

I saw the first doctor on that top docs list several years ago, Dr. Samuel S. Engel in Norwalk. He was very good, the only doctor who diagnosed and took my hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) seriously.

If your waiting for Dr. Gouth----make the time to wait--shes a top notch docter..and very hard ot get into...she is already double and triple booking as it is.....and really cannot see more patients..there isn't time in the day. Other than that --you'd need to look to YALE HOSPITAL in New HAven !! Which also has Endocrinologists on staff !!

Endocrinologist Question
Hey everyone or anyone...I was wondering what to expect on a first visit to an endocrinologist? Is there a physical exam? The reason I'm going is for irregular periods (too frequent) - as I'm sure the women will understand it's tough to plan some Dr. visits around that monthly hassle! Thanks!

I use Dr Bea Tendler UConn Health Center, 263 Farmington Ave., Farmington, (860) 679-8400. I had thyroid cancer 10 years ago and still see her very 6 months. Love her, I drive from Stamford to see her at Uconn.
A two month wait for a endocrinologist appointment is normal unless you have a referral from your primary care doc.
A normal appt. is a medical history, exam and lab work. Ask the best time of the month to schedule the appointment when you call, I am sure the staff will know the answer to your question.
