Also, what type of town do you want. Canton is small with no real downtown. West Hartford is more dense and has one of the best walkable downtowns in the state. Also it would help to know your budget and what you expect to get for it. Jay
Canton has the area along the Farmington River in Collinsville which attracts a lot of walkers and kayaking/canoeing in the nice weather, as well as some small shops and restaurants/pubs.
