Greetings everyone ... I just moved here about a week ago from Florida... I'm looking to transfer my Driver's License to Connecticut. Which are the best times to go in w/o an appointment... at either the Norwalk hub or the Bridgeport hub ?? Back in Florida, I would wait till 2-3pm ,walk in w/o an appointment and be done in about an hour. Instead of showing up at the crack of dawn & spend half the day there with all the other early risers ... can I do that here ?? Thanks in advance for your helpful responses ...

Avoid the Bridgeport DMV like the plague. Its one of the levels of hell. Go to Norwalk first thing in the morning, there should be no wait.

Make sure you have a proof of address at your new residence. I remember an ex from before I got married had recently moved to CT from New Jersey and they would not give her a license until she had something that proved her new address - utility bill, rental lease agreement, etc.

Great link by Stratford Ct. Resident above - I've tried to go at odd times most of the time to DMV and have been surprisingly lucky about not having to wait. So lucky that the first few times it happened to me, I almost thought I was in the wrong location or wrong line or something. (I've probably just given myself the proverbial Kiss of Death now...)

I had to go there to renew my license at the Danbury office. I was in and out in 20 minutes, as I went around 1:30 PM. The line was getting longer behind me as the day before they were closed, and the next day was a holiday and after that was an expected large snow storm. They have a very bad schedule to accommodate regular working professionals.
