I got an upgrade to work in White Plains. I have to be in WP by 6:00AM and leave by 4:00PM. I looked on google maps and it will take about 53 minutes. My planned route is Newtown Road-84-684-287 in the morning. I will leave by 4:45. My afternoon is the same, just reversed at 4:00PM. Is this a good commute? Will traffic be easy for me?

It's not a terrible commute. Leaving that early, you will be fine. You will probably hit traffic at the 84 exit coming home and again in Danbury around the mall/Exit 5, if you go that far.

For about a year I basically did that commute in reverse but hours were 7-3. Took me about 45 minutes each way, 684 can go quick.

Mornings will be fine, rarely any traffic at 4AM. Going home will be different. I dont know much about 287, but on 684 from the start to Exit 6, almost every car drives 80-85MPH. Once at Exit 6, you will start reducing speed. At Exit 8, it is stop and go up until 9E. The 684N to 84E ramp is a mess. There is always 10 cars traveling on it at once, even on a Sunday morning. The Danbury traffic starts at the state line. On Monday-Wednesday, traffic usually backs between Exits 1-4 (Lake Ave.) On Thursday and Fridays, traffic is slow from the 684 interchange up to Exit 7. In the summer on Thursdays and Fridays, sometimes traffic stretches for 19 miles (684 interchange to Exit 11 in Newtown.) Saturdays and Sundays arent too bad, maybe slowed at 40-45MPG between Exits 3-7.
