Besides that, one thing that has always been consistent is Friday nights.....could be Merrit,95 or 684......Friday night is a nightmare. Why? What makes Friday night any different from the other 4 nights?

This image below is from just now on Google maps. See the black in Stamford? That is an accident so that is random......but besides that Friday nights are horrible. 2 hours + sometimes
from Westchester to home. I'm not trying to sound like I am complaining, I have accepted my hell until I find a job in my field closer to home.......
Its more like trying to understand why?
Honestly, I have no idea how anyone could deal with a commute like that.

I am just wondering have all of you actually driven on the Merritt Pkwy and noticed a difference, because google maps isn't accurate traffic wise and it is almost always the least reliable traffic source. For real traffic information your probably the best calling 511. I once was driving up I-95 N though NYC and CT and google maps was all green, but I experienced 2 1 hour standstills (1 on the NYC CT Border) and 1 around Bridgeport Area.

It is true that the Merritt Pkwy can be congested at those times, and usually after april 1 people start heading for cape cod and places especially people who live in Southwest CT and are trying to avoid I-95 traffic by taking CT-15 instead. Thats probably why it is worse in the summer (everybody goes to Cape Cod) except me LOL. Anyway that is most likely the reason.

LOL thats why when I take trips to Boston Suburbs and Maine I usually don't even waste my time going through CT. I always go up the Taconic State Pkwy and take I-90 E unless I am driving in the summer.

That was a fluke. I find it 100% accurate. It relies on gps data. It can tell how fast the cars are moving.

I just Googled Taconic State Parkway and wow! It looks like a really beautiful parkway. Is it the NY equivalent of the Merritt?

That doesn't explain the randomly higher volume throughout the week though.

Yes, but Fridays going north are absolute worst all throughout the year.

Money and my job. Unfortunately, I don't have the type of job that you can transfer easily. Car dealers here in CT don't pay the same.
We are looking though.

It seems to me a gm at a car dealer is a job you could take anywhere. You could find a job in Timbuktu. Anywhere there are roads. lol Is there a huge salary difference between fairfield county and farther norther in the car industry?
