Default Glastonbury - Man Injured

Does anyone have an update on what happened to that 59 year old guy they found injured in the Bright Hoizons lot in town? I can't find anything on the news and I was wondering since my two kids go to that center. Thanks

My wife runs one of the BH centers in Gbury and I was told he's doing okay so far.

It was not related to any of the centers, the person was last seen at Tribeca Cafe (next door) the night before and was found in the neighboring parking lot of BH the next morning.

I wouldn't be too concerned about your kids and the center as it really had nothing to do with BH at this point aside from it being their parking lot that he was found in.

One of the staff a Bright horizons Daycare on Village Place off hebron Avenue found a 59 year old man badly beaten up in their parking lot the other morning. The man was last seen at Tribeca Cafe which is located across the street at the corner of Hebron avenue and Village Place the night before. The police have not released the mans name or any additional information. Jay

I guess my curiosity was how cryptic the whole report seemed. There haven't been any follow ups in the news or anything? And what an odd place to find someone. Even though he was last seen at the cafe nearby, they said the found a tail light from a car near him. I don't know just an odd situation.

Actually just found an update...

GLASTONBURY — - The discovery of a seriously injured man in a parking lot Friday is now being called suspicious by police.

Thomas Monaghan, 59, of Oxbow Drive, had traumatic injuries when he was discovered at the Bright Horizons day-care center, 22 Village Place, at 7:10 a.m. He remained in critical condition at Hartford Hospital Monday, police said.

Police did not provide details about his injuries Monday.

"We're aware of him from prior police contacts," Sgt. Richard McKeon, police spokesman, said Monday.

Monaghan was arrested in April 1999 and charged with stalking, violating a protective order and operating a motor vehicle without a license. In November 1999, he was charged with falsely reporting an incident to the state Department of Children and Families. And in January 2002, he was charged with violating a protective order and violating the conditions of his release from prison by making phone calls to his ex-wife.

hello
Tom M was a great man who I worked with for years.Very sad
to see this and he loved kids and his kids.
No updates yet waiting.
I did take a look at the Day Care Lot after being in town
all the time.
I say be careful for your kids cause on the other side of
the tree line a few feet away is a open foundation with 8foot drops
there should be a fence up ASAP!Not sure if this is what happened
to Tom M but the builder or the Day Care should get a fence up.
This is not the Day cares fault but might be good to be pro active
for roaming children. The builder has about 10 open foundations threwout the project very poor planning and dangerous law is fence it ot cover it.
Lets hope Tom M did not fall in this poor builders CHEAP PLANNING
AND OVER PRICED HOMES!
OSHA is out there not sure the town enforcing this.
Thanks
Mike J

What happened to this man has nothing to do with the homes being built next door. Also it is not poor planning and the foundations that are there are just like any other foundation that is built for new homes anywhere in this country and there are no special fencing requirements for them. They are a few feet above the ground so someone would have to climb over them to fall in. As for the daycare, the childrens play area is fenced in. Additional fencing would not be required. I am sorry to hear you knew this man and wish we would hear more about what happened. It has been strangely quite. Jay
