Is it just me or has the traffic in Stamford gotten worse over the past few months? I'm talking about the traffic in Stamford proper, not on 95 or the Merritt. It used to take me 5 min to get to my office once I got off 95-now its more like 10 to 15 min. Its turned into the worst part of my commute.

No kidding. I've lived in FFC for 10 years. I'm talking about a noticeable increase in one particular area.

I'm guessing all the construction, both residential and commercial, are contributing meaningfully to the intra Stamford traffic. We're talking thousands of rental units, starwood HQ, Chelsea piers busy season etc etc.

Fairfield Count traffic is getting worse and worse by year. But think of other cities that have worse traffic than Fairfield County. Y'all should be thankful we arent in LA or NYC.

Aside from a probably detour somewhere from construction or line crews we should consider the fact that more people are getting on the road and less coming off which equals more traffic. More teenagers getting licenses, less older people retiring off the road.

We might not see the results year over year but after 5-10yrs you can tell. More buildings equals more invitation of vehicles/people. We all love those multiplex high rise or acreas of condos. Lets put another 1,000,000 people in the area.

If your commute got longer within the weeks/months then my population factor obviously & probably isn't the reason.
