Hi, I am moving to Hartford in July and looking for some good neighborhood with good school rating. I could find that buckley school and keeney school have good ratings in manchester area but i could not find any good apartments or townhomes nearby. Rocky hill seem to have good schools but it is my last preference. Any advice on manchester Glastonbury neighborhood is what I am looking for. Thanks in advance.

Glastonbury schools certainly outperform Manchester.

When you say "moving to Hartford", are you moving to Hartford Metro or Hartford (city)? If working in Hartford you would want to live in the suburbs of Hartford such as West Hartford, Rocky Hill, Glastonbury, Wethersfield, Cromwell and might throw Berlin into the mix. All of the above are safe towns and good schools. W. Hartford and Glastonbury on top for schools.

Can I ask why Rocky Hill is last? They have plenty of apartment/townhomes and a overall good schools.

Rocky Hill schools also outperform Manchester schools by a good margin as well.

Cromwell also has a good amount of apartments and condos.

Farmington and Avon have the best schools.

Glastonbury is a great area along with Marlborough and Hebron

West Hartford is also good but different from Glastonbury I'd say.

All of Glastonbury is good. All of the schools in town are very good and there are no unsafe neighborhoods. It is just that there are not a lot of rentals here.

I am not sure why you do not want Rocky Hill. It is a very nice town with very good schools. Plus there is a good number of rentals.

As for Manchester, for the most part it is a safe town. The schools do not perform as well as Glatonbury or Rocky Hill though. I am not sure what website you are looking at for rating schools but I generally find that most sites use rating systems that do not agree with the reality of school performance. Check the website below for information on schools in Manchester. Speciifically look for schools that perform at or above the state average on the Connecticut Mastery Test for elementary and middle schools and on the Connecticut Academic Performance Tests for high school level. Good luck, Jay
