On the same note, I hate Winn Dixie, especially because they have two prices. One if you use their Winn Dixie card and another if you don't. I just hate using those things.

I'm a huge fan of Publix, however their prices are high. Their stores are very clean and their beef is excellent.

LOL!!! Loved your description of WalMart!! Yeah, Walmart is pretty bad.

Although, Super Targets, (not the Market Targets w/ a big grocery section, the actual Super Targets w/ the full deli, bakery, meat dpt) are a lot better than the Market Targets. I never saw a Super Target until I moved to Florida, and I like it. I always choose to go to Super Target over Walmart if i can for regular grocery items that are not on sale.

I would rather see myself dead than to shop at Walmart. The biggest mistake I made was going to Walmart on Black Friday 2013 .

I haven't read this whole thread, but I will say that the best supermarket I've ever been to (nationwide) is right in our backyards - Caraluzzis.

I would not say out of the world,we have been in FL for over 20 years, for most of those years we hardly ever shopped at Publix because of price. In the last several years they have become very competitive still maintaining excellent service.
If you use there sales sheet on Thursday to your advantage you can easily beat Walmart,Walmart has increased there pricing to almost a par with Publix.
They usually have 45-60 items buy one get one, useful items and they don't jack the price like some stores.I get the sales sheet thru email on Wednesday.
The Northeast would prove to be to expensive for Publix.

Seriously spot on. I always chuckle when my friends bring up how great whole foods or fairway is.

Whole foods is a really flawed model since you can't do all of your shopping there. Fairway is good but the service pales relative to caraluzzis in Georgetown/Wilton. I'm fairly isolated (which I prefer) but I am only 2 miles or so from this wonder.

Poor thing, you are probably scared for life.

PS. I hate Wal-Mart too. I can actually count the times I have ever been in one with the fingers of one hand and I will probably live a few more decades before I have to start using the fingers of the other hand too.

We just moved to FL from Ct last month. We have 3 grocery stores all within 2 miles of us. Publix is where we go, they seem to have everything we need, but they are more expensive than stop and shop. No gas card either.

Fresh Market is like whole foods, great products, way overpriced.

Winn Dixie is not so nice but prices are good.

Oh yeah super walmarts are all over but are a total freakshow...peopleofwalmart is no joke, I've seen it.
