Default Italians in Glastonbury?

Speaking of Italians (there have been a couple of threads with Italians involved recently), are there any Italians in Glastonbury? After 5 months here I have only met second+ generation Italians, who usually do not even speak the language anymore. Any other Europeans, as a matter of fact? I do not need to recreate home here, after all I have been in the States for 14 years. But sometimes it is nice to meet someone who grew up in a similar environment.

There are a few. My neighbors are Italian. They own a popular Manchester restaurant. Not sure if this counts but, a co-worker is taking Italian and is on the phone right now speaking as I write this. Jay

Valeria,

I am not Italian but I have a serious love of Italian food and CT is blessed to have a number of authentic Italian restaurants.

The owner/chiefs of the following restaurants are all from Italy:

L’Orcio - 806 State Street, New Haven, CT http://www.lorcio.com

La Scogliera - 697 Madison Avenue Bridgeport, CT

Tuscany Ristorante - 1084 Madison Ave Bridgeport, CT

Roseland Apizza - 350 Hawthorne Ave Derby, CT

I think the owners of La Scogliera and Roseland came to CT as children so I don't know if they still speak Italian fluently but the gentleman at the other two restaurants came here as adults and are fluent.
