My friend up in Hartford texted me that today. CT is the 2nd worst state in the nation for work environment.

HMMMM.....

No wonder why my last two jobs (in Hartford County) completely SUCKED. It was nothing but unrealistic expectations, good old boys clubs, and cocky attitudes. And stress, too. And everyone expects you to work long hours.

May be an older article (March 2012), but Bridgeport, Norwalk, and Stamford were rated the worst places to retire in 2013 (The 10 Worst Places to Retire - US News).

Im pretty happy. Certainly not stressed. Just like most things its what YOU put into it. 99.9% of "stressed" or unhappy people will be so no matter where they reside.

Then again, just whining like lil babies or bitching is what seems to MAKE many people happy these days. So they got that goin for them.

These lists are just plain comical to me.

That's partially true, but partially false.

My last job was very stressful to the point that I had to quit with no job lined up.

My current job isn't that stressful and I can handle it fairly well.

I'm the same person, more or less.

Stress is just part of the job. I really like my job but it is very stressful (highway/bridge construction) and I've seen more than one guy drop of heart attacks in the field. We work 24hrs a day ( day and night crews) so there really is not a lot of down time.

No matter what county/state/country it's stressful.

I wish they gave reasons why we rank so high.

I wonder if these types of lists actually cause people to want to move out of CT.

At least my state of Virginia ranked as a good place to make a living. High wages, moderate cost of living, and low unemployment.

The northeast would do fine but with the high tax burdens in that region the more you make the more they will take.
