Actually that was back in 2002.....when the USA beat Portugal 3-2 to advance to the round of 16 then beat host Korea in the round of 16 to eventually lose to Germany 1-0.

World Cup is like the Olympics used to be -- every 4 years. No such thing as the 2008 WC Games...
Going back for past games: 2010, 2006, 2002, 1998, etc. Is it the women's championship games you're remembering from '08??

Women's world cup is played on odd years. They play theirs next year.

Back to the original question, they are showing all the games outside in Pitkin Plaza in New Haven, next to O'Toole's Pub.

It was pretty crowded when I drove past during the US-Ghana game.
