I glad u liked CT so far I noticed the last couple of posts on CT fourms people from Midwest considering of moving to CT I did'nt we was on the map lol. Yes gas in CT is one of most expensive actually 3rd or 4th highest in all of the 50 states.

North Haven should have almost all the shopping you need - Universal Drive is loaded with just about every big box store under the sun. West Farms would be closer to 30-35 minutes. Milford is a bit closer. There is a small mall in Meriden, but it's not all that good that I remember. Going east, you have the outlet malls in Clinton & Westbrook, and one being built in West Haven.

North Haven is nice, though I'm surprised you didn't gravitate to Orange to be near more "stuff". It's just near more than North Haven.

All of Orange is good and safe! Schools are just as good as North Haven, some would say better based on test scores.

How do you figure? North Haven has Universal Drive and Washington Ave with numerous big box stores, plus you're 10 minutes from Wallingford, Hamden and New Haven to utilize their commercial districts.
