Hi,

We just moved to Hamden. What is a good place to go for a Fall extravaganza type thing, where they sell pumpkins and we can do a corn or hay bale maze, etc? Nothing too far from New Haven County? It's a little early yet but we like to do this sort of thing every year. Prefer local farms if possible, small crowds. Hartford area ok too. Thanks!

The best one I've been to is Foster's Family Farm in South Windsor. It does tend to get crowded though.

I've gotten over Jone's. I'd much rather go to Lyman's or Bishop's, plus they are closer than driving down there.

You can buy good pumpkins just about anywhere in CT during September and October.

I'll agree on Lyman Orchards as well.

That's true. As far as buying pumpkins you can drive around and see pumpkin patches in many locations.

I remember driving in Shelton I think on Huntington parkway and a Church had a ton of them outside. But I would buy them directly from farms to supprt the farms. :-)
