My husband and I are preparing for a move from Stamford to northern New Rochelle. Any recommendations for a reliable moving company that won't totally rip us off?
Any suggestions are much appreciated!

I recently used Mac's Moving out of East Haven. They were very well priced (I was able to negotiate with them), professional; the guys who moved me were great. They showed up early, handled everything with care, and got done early. I would highly recommend them.

I recently used Bigtime's Efficient Movers for a move from North Haven to Wallingford. They were great, managed to do some things with getting furniture in that I didn't think were humanly possible, and it was very affordable (though it was also only one town over). The guy's name was Brian.

PM me if you want his contact info.

Used Graebel several times. Very good. National company means no shenanigans.

We used Clancy for our last move (based out of NY, but for a CT move) and absolutely LOVED them. Seriously loved. Fair price, delivered exactly what they promised, and not a single item broken or misplaced. We used them for a same-day move (unpacked the old house and dropped it all off at the new one on the same day -- and it was a long day! Haha), but I do know from friends that they also offer storage options in case your move out/move in days are spread over either days/weeks or months.

Just moved from Stamford to Fairfield - similar distance. 4br house (though it was not full of a lot of stuff) cost $2k. The company name was Prepare to Move or Prepare2Move. I liked how he calculated it, totally off of man hours at $30 and hour. No upcharge for weekends.

Be warned the guy Tony is a *total* character. But I trust him and his motley crew.

We just used Marie's Movers in Southbury for move to KY - very reasonable, his guys were great - really hard workers, very polite, very careful - and he beat an estimate we had from a national company by at least 40%!
