The article doesn’t mention Waterbury as a large city, but mentions Danbury.

New Haven has to be a record not seen in many decades.

Drive by shooting in Fairfield it not common for Fairfield. It not first time shots fired in town this year. There two other reports of shots fired, robberies and break ins in Eastern Fairfield

That is a quiet street. I know someone that lives on it and had several friends that grew up there. It gets some traffic because it is one of the three ways to get into Knapp's Village which is a group of privately owned two-family homes that were built during the war as government housing. They were sold off back in the 50's. Also on that road is one of the town-owned senior housing complexes. Still not much happens there normally. Fortunately this was down the street from the people I know. Still it is kind of scary. Jay

Connecticut near year end 2017 crime

Homicides total

Hartford 29----it has double from 2016 when the city seen record low of 14 which lowest since early 80's. Also 133 people been wounded by gunfire this year same as 2016.

Bridgeport 23---it has double from 2016 which had low of 11 homicides there been 107 people wounded by gunfire this year in Bridgeport it slightly down from 2016.

Waterbury 12--Crime has been rampant in Brass City since 2013 with number of indents in 2017 it been bad year for the city with 12 homicides which is most since 1990's. Also 67 people by wounded by gunfire it is highest over a decade.

New Haven 7---The Elm City has been showing progress on it reduce it numbers from high of 34 in 2011 one of worst years in the city and high of 19 in 2013. Seven homicides this year in New Haven so far is lowest on record the pass six years New Haven has seen crime deductions every year. There been 61 people wounded by gunfire in New Haven down from 66 last year

New London 4--It been violent two weeks stretch in NL where city saw 3 homicides in violent outbreak despite recent upstick pass 2 weeks overall crime is down in New London. Last year there been 1 homicide in the city but this year spike to 4. 13 people been wounded gunfire in the city this year.

New Britain 3---It been mixed bag for NB this year 15 people been wounded gunfire in the city this year.

Norwalk 3----While overall crime been down in Norwalk homicides has spike from 1 in 2016 to 3 this year and person's hit by gunfire has spike to 19 this year.

Stamford 0----The city that works this year has seen zero homicides so far last year city only saw 2 homicides. Only 11 people been wounded by gunfire.
