CT has a lot of haunted places we have two museum's dedicated to the Occult. We are a state filled with so much negative energy with homicides and serial killers. We have unfortunately have had our own version of the Witch Trials. There is a lot more legends and lores. We gave a Black Dog that can predict your death after you see it three time's!

Dudleytown is a pretty creepy place. You could still see the foundation and paths that date back to years and years ago. Me and a few friends (this was back in the high school in the late 70's/early 80's) went there and walked around the woods. Usually you could hear the wind and crickets but when we walked to the site it was completely quiet. You had a feeling you were being watched. When we walked back to the car you heard the wind and crickets. It was kind of freaky. As of today, the surrounding area is private property and the state police are around the area once in awhile trying to find trespassers. A few years ago, a film crew and cast were arrested for trespassing while trying to film a movie.

My mom has a house in Branford which she has rented out at various times. One of the tenants claimed the house was haunted and the ghost he described looked exactly like my great grandfather. I've never seen anything to suggest it's haunted, but it's a fun story nonetheless.

I have seen a very good debunking of duddlyville in which the author refutes the "facts" of the case. It really is just a settlement that failed do to poor soil. No mass insanity or anything like that.

It's not uncommon where TV shows and ghost hunters try and overhype haunted locations. Plus a lot of people make up stories and over the years people believe them.

I had to go to Hookman's Cemetary (aka Old Cemetary Rd) for an earth science project. We had to do a research project on rocks and that cemetary was the only one that had sandstone headstones. Not bad during the day, but the thought of walking the road at night would freak me out. The fact that it's surrounded by water company land makes it spookier.
