my boses work van got hit almost head on by a man from plainville who had another accident 3 hours earlier, the guy got out of his car and said, "what happened man?". of course they tested the guy for drugs and it was positive.

lets not forget the man living in downtown plainville who drilled holes in his dog. lovely town? no such thing anymore.

Also, it should be noted that Bristol is one of the larger cities in the state. If we're looking at test scores, I would shun the smaller towns with poor test scores. The more students there are, the lower the average will be.
bristol was a small city that in more recent years has become more of a big town. downtown is dead. we're like southington with bad infrastructure and a little less money.

From what I heard, Bristol had ok to not that great schools. Test scores have been slipping as the school population tips to over 30% poor.

Personally, I think Bristol is one of the best cities in CT. I work there every summer and I've noticed that kids in Bristol are way more diverse than many other cities/towns in the area. When I say "diverse", it doesn't always mean by the color of their skin. I noticed that at the parks, affluent kids play basketball with less affluent kids. There doesn't appear to be a class barrier there and thats what appeals to me.

Now I'll admit, growing up in Waterbury, I do find Bristol to be pretty boring. But once it gets nice restaurants and/or a mall, Bristol could be one of CT's finest small cities.
