Exactly like every other governor in similar circumstances.

OP, Why does Buffalo need help? You said their winter isn't much different than Ct one week ago.

But they're not that much harsher. On average, Buffalo is only 6 or 7 degrees cooler than Norwalk. In the summer, it's only 1 degree cooler. All year round on average, only 4 degrees cooler.

I was chatting with some guy who lived in Buffalo his whole life, as well as going to Yale in New Haven for college, and he said that the media has portrayed Buffalo to be much more harsh than it really is. He said that the whole snow thing is a MYTH.

I mean, that's like someone living in North Carolina being terrified about moving up to CT because of the CT snow. It's relative.

It depends entirely on the direction of the wind and how far the wind has blown over the lake water. Usually it changes at some point and moves the snowfall around; this one just stuck there and blew steady for a long time.

Going into the weekend, this will be the worst problem: Buildings collapse under heavy snow, as Buffalo braces for more

Not sure if it's a concern in the buffalo area, but temps are supposed to soar up to the 60s here by Monday. Not sure how warm it's supposed to get up there, but I'd imagine warm temps = crazy melting? -- (7 feet of melt all at once, possibly?). Could make for some spectacular flooding. Hope it stays relatively cool up there!

I support Malloy 100%. I voted for him and I'm happy that he won. He will continue to do great things for this state, such as increased gun control, expand tax revenues and the latest.....to require businesses to pay 2.5 times the hourly wage if they want to open on Thanksgiving!!! I support this 100%. We need more common sense laws in this state, and this one is a good example. Black Thursday / Black Friday is a public safety concern and is not fair to make people work in retail on Thanksgiving.

Yeah, you should move there. The posts from you in the winter would be epic.

The proposal above stems from Malloy? Can I sign you up for reading comprehension.

I wonder if CT helped out in these other historic events that happened in NY State. In fact, does anyone want to do a population search for all these areas?

Wales Center, NY 7 feet but how does it compare to other events in NY State?

"7+ feet of snow in 3-4 days!!! Whaaat? That happened in Wales Center, NY...here's a historical comparison "
