Default Living in East Windsor?

My husband and I are moving to Connecticut for his job in South Windsor. East Windsor was one of the areas mentioned to us to live. I haven't heard any feedback on this area. Is this a nice place to live? What are the advantages or disadvantages to living here? Do they have good schools?

It depends on what you are looking for. East Windsor has a little bit of a more rural feel to it, pretty quiet, and a little old fashioned. Diversity is summed up in a single apartment complex known as Mill Pond. The town is pretty small and therefore the school system is not crowded. I have never lived here but I do live across the river in Windsor. Not terrible, but not my cup of tea either.

I would strongly suggest South Windsor or Ellington over East Windsor.

I agree with skytrekker. My family owned a store in East Windsor for many years and I grew up in South Windsor. I think the school systems and life in general are just better in SW and Ellington.

East windsor has quite a few trailor parks and lower income housing, while it's not a high crime area it is a lower income town that aside from a few newer complex's is pretty dumpy in my opinion and the schools aren't anything special. I would go for South Windsor or ellington as well both better towns with better schools

East Windsor schools score under the state average on the Connecticut Mastery tests. South Windsor and ellington schools perform above the state average. If schools are a priority, I agree with the others to check out South Windsor and Ellington first. Jay
