Looks like an western band of heavy snow just formed. These kind of features cant reliably be forecasted. Will be interesting to track the radar today.

That kind of proves my point! It's not even snowing right now in the central valley. Travel bans are new norm anytime we get a storm. lol 84 gets snowcovered if there is 2 inches of snow and its really cold out. The most dangerous conditiosn are when it's not completely snow covered and just covered in patches giving people a false sense of security. People drive too fast here in the snow.

That will shut down as the low moves away today. Should drop a few more inches though!

Time to start lifting that travel ban in the next few hours in hartford/new haven county.

Big dry slot up through central ct. Keep an eye on the radar. You never know when and where a band may setup though.

RADAR STILL SHOWS A MESOSCALE SNOW BAND WITH SNOWFALL RATES OF AN INCH PER HOUR EXTENDING FROM WEST OF BDL TO BDR AND ISP...AND COULD SEE SIMILAR BANDS RE-FORM AND DISSIPATE MOSTLY OVER CT AND LONG ISLAND INTO THIS AFTERNOON

Although a bust for me here in North Granby it is not a bust for over half the state. I find it interesting that there is a tendency to dismiss the significance of anything that isn't Fairfield County centric on the CD CT thread.

People in Eastern CT are waking up to this. Disaster out that way. Reports of almost 3 feet out that way.

Wish there were more people on the forum from out that way to get reports from.
