WICC was the only reliable place to get closing and delay information. I remember when they would announce "here is the list" and you would turn it up and shut up to hear your school.

Grew up in Trumbull and then Westport-- We were really far down the list... Even after "Our Lady of Fatima..."

By the time I was in sixth grade I could name every school district in the area-- in alphabetical order. "Public and Parochial."

Me too. Fairfield rarely canceled back then. Our Superintendent was from Midwest so snow did not bother him. This was in the days before people were lawsuit crazy. Times have changed. Jay

WTNH-TV has its moments...but I had a real doozy today: WFSB-TV (CBS) channel 3 has named this storm Colbie. Yes, for the freakin' adult contemporary singer which stations like WRCH-FM 100.5 went crazy for. Thousands of lives are at stake and they only care about making it cute by naming it as such! I already don't trust them for weather because of Scot Haney. Geoff Fox was awesome with WTNH-TV/WTIC-TV! I still follow him and his blog today. He lives in Irvine, CA now.

No love for the NY stations? I know they add some hype but they really have some personality. When Lonnie Quinn from CBS rolls up the sleeves and has his top button undone... you know it's gonna be serious.

WFSB has been naming the storms for a while now. It does not bother me. I like Scot Haney. I think he is amusing and fairly accurate. At least as good as any of the others. I actually have met Scot and he is nothing like his on-aid personality. He is really kind of quiet and shy. Funny huh? Jay
