Looks like from that map everything has pushed east and it will end soon, at least in Westchester and Western CT?

Wonder if schools will have delays tomorrow.....

Coming down hard still.

Here's why we all changed back to snow.. As the storm transferred to the coast from West to East (PA to Coast) it dragged the cold air with it and the freezing line pushed east as well so anyone that was sleet, ice or rain now is snow because the entire atmosphere went back below freezing..

Still coming down hard here.

Same here in Fairfield. Cleaned the cars and driveway and then bam, probably another couple inches in the last 2 hours.

I just saw on the Weather Channel that they said this was Detroit's third biggest snowstorm ever. So it may make sense from that standpoint. Even though their average annual snowfall of 44 inches is comparable to Hartford and Boston, they tend to get more smaller snows and less bigger ones.

Their NWS climate website shows 13.7" for yesterday so 3" fell today as I found this site and it looks like they needed just 16.7" for it to be the #3 snowstorm (and even 13-14" would put it easily in the "top 10"). Note that it only snowed over 20" in one storm once and that was in the 1800's:

http://www.crh.noaa.gov/dtx/display_climate.php?file=dtwsnowstorms.htm

Also, they have only had 13 storms of a foot or in a period of at least 130 years. A similar chart for Central Park (see below for link) shows over twice as many in not much longer a time even though they average 15-20 inches less snow/winter:

http://www.weather.gov/media/okx/Cli...Snowstorms.pdf

Similar for Chicago, which averages 40" per winter. The 19" they got out of this is #5 overall and the 16" on the 1st is the most on any "calendar day" in February:

Insane. 1/8 visibility. New snow 2pm to 30m = 1.0"!

7.3" total for storm.
