Help needed - To identify apartments near WINDSOR
Friends,
Our job is at Northfield drive, Windsor, CT and we (myself, spouse & a 2.5yr old kid) were hunting for apartments in Windsor and the nearby cities.
We were looking based on the below factors:
1. Do not want travel more than 15 mins to work
2. Safe locality
3. Spacious living - for 2 bed - rent 1200 max.
4. Schools do not matter at this time since my kid is 2.5 yrs old
So, we kind of shortlisted a few apartments that i wanted to get the opinions of the friends in this forums like JayCT.
They were:
1. The 600 apartments - Bloomfield
2. Rivers Bend - Windsor
3. Williamsburg - Windsor
4. Manor house - Bloomfield
5. Deer Medow - Bloomfield
6. East Wintonbury hills - East windsor
7. Wyndwoods - East windsor
Pls share your comments on the above and also let us know if there are any good apartments that we have missed in our search.
Please help us with your comments
Dave

If working in Windsor, I suggest South Windsor also-just across the Connecticut river.

I don't know too much about the complexes you mention but based on location alone, Rivers Bend would be a great choice. You would be a bout 5 minutes from work, have a grocery store, a few restaurants, gas station dry cleaner right outside your complex. You would be right off the highway. I actually live in Windsor and feel it's a great place to live, and I think you can find exactly what you are looking for.

Dave - Welcome to Connecticut. I do not really know the specifics on any of the complexes you list. Since schools are not an issue, I would not think which town matters as much as how nice the complex is and how well the apartment fits you needs. I would visit each of them and see which one strikes you as best. I should note that East Windsor is a little further away than Bloomfield and Windsor and will require you to cross the Connecticut River each day. It is not really a problem to do that but if all things being equal, Windsor and Bloomfield are fine places to live. Jay

I can't comment on a lot of those complexes, but Rivers Bend has a good location, but i have heard mixed reviews from people who I know have lived there. Apparently the management is lacking and there have been complaints about loud parties and action was slow over there. ex - i had a friend who lived there and their refrigerator stopped freezing. They must have fixed it four times before they finally agreed to just buy a new one. Meanwhile the tenet wasn't able to keep anything in the freezer during that time period. Just one example though, but thought I would share....

I currently live in Windsor, and know folks who live in both Williamsburg and River's Bend. I would suggest River's Bend as well (i live just up the street from the place). Onramps for 91 are seconds away and there is a 24/7 Price Chopper across the street. Coupled with stores, a gas station, and resturants all in the immediate area (as in, visible from the entrance to River's Bend), River's Bend is in a great location.
