Looking to possibly relocate to CT
Hi all!
Over the past couple of days i've been looking into a few states to relocate to. I'm currently 18 so i'm young and i'm looking to go to school for hotel/restaurant management. I'm starting out here where I currently reside in Arizona. I want to stay close to NY thats why i've been considering Connecticut since it borders it, and my hometown in NY isnt that long of a drive as other places would be. I guess i'm asking what would be some of the better cities to relocate to for a young person like me and for school. I've always wanted to live in a town that looks older like Boulder CO but I just want to get some oppinions. So any suggestions would be helpful thanks
My lease is up here in October i know thats 9 months away but i feel rushed lol

Raven, southwestern CT-Fairfield county is closest to NYC- but the high cost of rentals might be allot for you- the great New Haven and Hartford area are less expensive; but still close to New York. Have you chosen a specific college to attend? There are many state and some private schools that have programs in hotel/restaurant management.
Connecticut is a pleasant state that has much to offer- and I may add most of the state is far cheaper to live then Boulder CO. Good luck.

I'm not looking to be next to NYC i would rather be farther away from that... lol I'd just like to live in a smaller town that can access a larger city without going to far out of the way. A town that everybody knows each other in ya know? I know it's hard to find but i'm still looking
As for college I havent picked one out yet i'm still researching those. I'm open to suggestions at this point!

You might look at the Hartford area east of the river- in Manchester, which also has one of the best schools in New England for Hotel and food management; Manchester Community College. Manchester Community College | Home Page an excellent 2 year college- and one of the Community Colleges in New England- the campus and its facilities are beautiful.
Manchester is adjacent to many small towns in eastern CT.

I believe Suffield, CT has the International College of Hospitality Management (although I believe the name has changed) and it is affiliated with Connecticut Culinary Institute somehow. You would be close to both Hartford and Springfield.

Casinos
I'm surprised Southeastern Ct wasn't mentioned. There are two casinos Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. There are also several colleges within driving distance. The cost of living will be cheaper than western Ct. And it's not too far from the beach.
That said Hartford may be more exciting, the drive between Hartford and the Casinos is about an hour.
