Post Winters in Connecticut...Dry?....

I live in NYC, looking to relocate, Dry winter air and furnance heat killing me.
How are the winters on the coast of CT?

Actually, it is not much different than New York City. The temperatures are colder and we probably get a little more snow and ice depending what part of the state you live in. Jay

It's very similar, as Jay mentioned. However, the urban area of NYC tends to be 4-7 degrees warmer than portions of CT, due to the "concrete jungle and building heating effect." Snow sticks around longer since there is much more grass, and the further away from the coast you go, the colder and snowier it gets. We live about 3 1/2 miles from the coast and we'll get a half inch of snow. My partner's parents live 4 miles north of us in North Stamford and they'll receive 4 or 5 inches. It's strange.

Its not strange..its the effect of the warmer ocean and li sound on weather
