Maybe because I haven't done an internet search on myself lately, this website came as a huge shock. Bought from the state, it shows your voter information. Address, voter ID, party affiliation, birth date and often your phone number.

I guess it shouldn't be a surprise in the age of no privacy but the guy running the site seems to take great pleasure in making a lot of people angry by flaunting the availability of this information.

Take a look! Connecticut Registered Voters

This isn't too big of a deal. I can find out tons of info just by having a couple facts. I located where someone lives in San Diego just by their name and a single mention of what their Dad does.

I also found several people's house worth and the taxes they would be paying roughly. I'm not surprised, but then again, I'm a millennial and all this tech stuff is old news to me. (shrugs).

It is public record, no? Many things are, even if you don't want it public. Property records (what your home is assessed at and taxes paid), marriage records, death records, court records...lots of info is available. I would have a problem with it if they showed WHO I voted for (that would be illegal, obv.). But just the fact that I vote? No biggie.

Yikes, this is a little scary, considering I have two cyber-stalkers. I bet that they are all over this information.

Do I what I do when I come across this, at least for the peoplesmart site similar to Spokeo and what not I just click on Privacy Policy and do the find yourself and hide or block results.

I just did it but apparently for voter registration my house number is WAY off.
