It used to be 5 bucks a gallon at it's peak. Everyone has a short memory. Everyone was going nuts about how it was obama's fault, yet gas prices plummeted while he was in office and he got no credit for that even though they blamed him when they were high.

Yes unfortunately it's creeping back towards 3 bucks a gallon again

I'm for tolls because lately I've seen a million cars from New York, jersey, Pennsylvania and Vermont on our roads. plus, I work in highway construction and whatever is needed to keep the jobs rolling.

Totally against the road usage tax proposal. My jobs are based all over the state. One week I'm in southington the next in Ellington and the next in Groton. It's like getting a penalty for working.
Of course I didn't believe them but unfortunately some people did. The last time I believed the governor was th "temporary income tax". I was a younger at the time but I hope they abide by their word. I totally get you about the tax proposal. At least have that system on Interstate 95 since most out of staters use it. If you drive from Greenwich to Stonington one way you get charged a lot more then getting off in New Haven. We would make bank. Hey maybe more people will use ct Fastrak who knows haha.

The national average price of regular the day Obama took office was $1.84/gallon. Yeah, prices have plummeted from there.

What was it's peak during the bush administration's years? Near 5 bucks. Obama gave poor people free healthcare(without any massive jobs losses or death panels and also gave middle class people who didn't get good healthcare through a job more affordable policies and no pre existing clauses) and got us out of a senseless war in Iraq and avoided the drums of war by the neocon's to go to war on multiple fronts in the middle east like John Mccain and others were promoting. But the Obama haters/fox news lovers don't listen to facts. They're all about emotion and live by the mantra that everything is Obama's fault. The absurd attacks on Obama about gas prices in CT and other states is a great example of that. There are examples of overspending by leaders and this transportation plan by Malloy might be one of those. I say that as a democrat that voted for him.
