Well we now know what Connecticut's Transportation Future will be. Tolls all over the state.When they need more money, they will just increase the amounts. Let's see, if it gets phased in by 2025, and the $ 15.00 minimum wage gets phased in by 2023, that means it will be time to raise the minimum wage in 2025 to cover the cost of the Tolls. But wait, trucks,the vehicles that do the most damage, unspecified?

Very true. With two or three inches of snow on the road, driving improves quite a bit. Traction is worse in the slushy mix that we had last night and this morning.
Also, snow tires make a huge difference.

Odd toll question. I am not for or against tolls. Was thinking if they plan to start building pantries by 2023/2024 couldn't the next Governor stop that?

It depends on where the state is in the implementation. If the gantries are up and ready to begin, any new Governor would be hard pressed to stop a new source of revenue. Publicly he would get murdered because he is essentially stopping the transportation program. Jay

I don't know if it's still done this way, but years ago there were small towns on the Canadian/US border that didn't kill themselves plowing. You just drove on the old snow. They probably used chains - most everything was RWD then. (source: a relative that grew up in an old town like that)
I'll take snow tires over 4WD - though both would work well. But most people think their AWD/4WD cars are invincible so they don't even bother.

Toll booth thing getting my family nervous
I recently moved to ct I am just wondering what would be the cost of toll from bridgeport to new york daily?...Does anybody have an idea what it would be once it is implemented? Thanks

Around $ 2.50 each way, but the Legislature wants an open Bill, to charge whatever they want, whenever they want.

No one knows exactly how much the tolls will be, particularly for Connecticut residents. There has been talk of something like 10 cents a mile but it may be discounted for Connecticut residents or frequent users. I would not worry about it. Jay
