I always swore I would never live in a house undergoing renovation. Friends did it and went through hell. Still we stupidly did it and my what a mess for several months. Never again. Good luck settling in. Jay

My Onion harvest this past week. 33 Red, 21 White & 23 Yellow.. Couple left in the ground still. (less than 10)

They are fun to grow. Stopped doing Strawberries and started onions.

Last year had bigger onions. Weather played a big role this year. Little sun and too much rain.

Even though you can eat them right now, They will cure for couple weeks.

Looks nice in the basket. Garden Fresh!

I can relate. This isn't the first. He's working fast! I'm trying to not compare it with hell. I have a mantra: I can do this, I can do this, I can do this...

How long will those onions hold ? Do you store them in the basement?

Also, I don't know if you're aware of it, but onions and potatoes shouldn't be stored next to each other. Onions give off a gas that will make potatoes spoil sooner.

Yup, did it for the picture but interesting cause i didnt know why they should be seperate. I usually keep them in seperate baskets in the pantry where its dry and cool as I keep my entire house at all times.

The onions last longer then the Potatoes. Not sure exactly how long..we usually use them or give some away before they go bad.

What can I plant this time of year? Lillies are almost finished. Can I plant them in the fall? A coworker is going to give me some prim roses from his yard. He says he has a no-kill policy. I just want to stick bits of color here and there. I see hydrangeas do so well here. I have one I brought with me. Any winter greens possible?

I'm not a flower planting guy so have no idea on that stuff. But as far as a vegetable fall crop... I don't do that either. lol. I get ready for winter and just clean the area up come September/October.

You can do Lettuce and other cool weather Fall crops. Do a search on that.

Another perfect coolish dry morning for pulling weeds which started to take over. Soil getting "dusty" again

Bucket of weeds in 20 minutes. Where do I put them?

Dropped onto the compost pile, eventually all mixed in when I turn it...
Grabbed the compost dirt from underneath and put into the bucket.... All kitchen scrap (banana peels, Watermelon, chicken bones, lobster scrap, ect. ect.

Compost dirt onto the garden bed. Fresh organic food for the crops.
